Crash snarls traffic on 215 near Lone Mountain
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A multiple-car crash injured one driver and snarled traffic on the Las Vegas beltway Monday afternoon near Lone Mountain Road.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. and caused major delays for commuters in the area.
The Nevada Highway Patrol shut down both the north and southbound lanes of the beltway until about 7 p.m.
Investigators say a 62-year-old woman driving a white Volkswagen was traveling southbound on the beltway when she lost control of her car. She veered into the northbound lanes, into the path of a Dodge pick-up truck and another Volkswagen.
Debris from the crash also damaged a Subaru.
The 62-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"She's lucky to be alive," says Warren Matte, who was driving the Dodge pick-up truck involved in the crash. "They couldn't get her out of the car. They had to pry the door open. The crash happened so fast. We don't know where she came from. It was scary."
Luckily, no one else involved in the crash was injured.
