Four pedestrians hit by vehicle, driver arrested for DUI

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Four male pedestrians were hit by a vehicle Saturday afternoon, near downtown Las Vegas.

It happened around 11:45 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive, south of Sycamore Lane.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a 1999 Toyota Corolla, driven by 35-year-old Uziel Reyes-Perez of Las Vegas, was traveling north on Veterans Memorial when he went off the road and onto the sidewalk. He struck four pedestrians.

Anthony Coca and Gary Taylor were listed in critical condition; Brian Kopperman was in serious condition; and Martin Lomas had minor injuries. All four men are from Las Vegas and range in age from 48-58.

Police believe all four victims are homeless.

Reyes-Perez was arrested for felony DUI and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the LVMPD Accident Investigation Section.
