House fire leads to marijuana bust in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A house fire led to the discovery of marijuana growing in a Las Vegas home on Friday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 1900 block of West Mesquite Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered the fire had started with an AC unit in a room used for growing marijuana.
Firefighters summoned police to the house. Officers found several marijuana plants, grow equipment, chemicals and harvested marijuana.
One occupant of the house was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police have yet to make any arrests as they continue their investigation.
Authorities said this is the fifth fire caused by an illegal marijuana grow operation in Las Vegas this year.
