Armored truck robbed at outlet mall near downtown
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An armored truck was robbed at an outlet mall in Las Vegas on Friday.
Metro police say the incident happened just before noon at the Premium Outlets North near downtown.
An armored truck was making its rounds when one of the truck operators was approached by two men with baseball bats. The men attacked him and stole the satchel he was carrying.
Police say the suspects then tried to flee and a nearby guard followed them. One of the men tried to attack the guard. The guard took out a gun and fired at the man, but missed him.
Both robbers were able to flee the scene in a light-colored older model sedan, heading northbound on Grand Central Parkway.
The suspects are described as two white or Hispanic males, believed to be in their 20s. Both suspects had stubble beards, wore construction reflector vests and are described as being between 5'11" and 5'8" tall.
