Pros start playing today in Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It is one of the biggest charity events in the Las Vegas Valley and it is a good reason to hit the golf course.
The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals For Children Open is underway.
Celebrities and amateurs partnered with PGA Tour professionals yesterday to compete in the MGM Resorts International Championship Pro Am. But now it is time for the professionals to hit the course.
The pros will start teeing off at 7 a.m. today and tournament play will continue through the weekend.
The Pro-Am event featured tournament host Justin Timberlake and celebrities such as T Bone Burnett, George Lopez, and local pro golfer Nick Watney.
The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals For Children Open is a golf tournament in the fall series of the PGA Tour and is played each year in Las Vegas. It has been hosted by singer and actor Justin Timberlake since 2008.
The event is the first PGA Tour event in history to offer a total prize purse of more than $1 million.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit Shriners Hospitals For Children, a network of 22 non-profit hospitals across North America that help children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and more.
