Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Already more than 1.1 million voters are registered in Nevada, according to the Secretary of State's office.
This week is expected to draw record application numbers as the deadline for mail-in and online registration approaches on October 6.
Online registration ends at midnight on October 6. Click here to register.
This year has been different than the 2008 election season. In 2008, there were registration spikes for the primary elections. This year, the Clark County Registrar's Office says there's been a steady increase in number of people registering as the general election nears.
"Last week alone, we had 27,000 people send in voter registration forms, so it's getting really busy as we approach the close," said Larry Lomax with the Clark County Registrar of Voters.
"This year we had less people early on in the year, but the buildup at the end has been more than it was in 2008," says Lomax.
In September, more Democrats than Republicans registered in Clark County.
Anyone who doesn't meet the October 6th deadline, must then go to the Registrar's Office in person. The cutoff for in-person registration is October 16.
