President Obama visits Hoover Dam
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - President Obama spent some time at the Hoover Dam Tuesday afternoon and it was the first time he’d seen it.
The President stopped at Helipad on Lower Portal Rd around 1:18 p.m. to view the dam. The Whitehouse pool reporter says there was “not a cloud in the sky and the sun was blazing.”
Mr. Obama was wearing a blue and white checkered collar shirt with his sleeves rolled up and kaki pants.
The President got out of the car to look at the dam and get info from the Dam staff, including Assistant Dam Manager for History and Operational Logistics, Rob Skordas.
"… it's spectacular, and I've never seen it before," Obama said when asked about the outing.
"I didn't realize it was so close by," he added.
President Obama also caught a view of the Nevada Transformer Deck and power house of the Dam on the Nevada side.
