American Red Cross needs help to help fire and flood victims
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The American Red Cross needs help to help the victims of recent fires and flooding.
Four fires in the past forty-eight hours have displaced dozens of people. One of those fires was deadly, and claimed the lives of a fifty-year old man and his thirteen-year old son.
A spokesman for the local Red Cross chapter says this summer has been one of the most devastating periods on record.
On top of the fires, the agency also helped people hit with monsoon floods.
Lloyd Ziel says, "Usually, by this time in the summer, we've served about four hundred, four hundred-fifty people, and we're over eight hundred this year."
All of the money raised by the local American Red Cross stays in Southern Nevada. To donate, and help make Las Vegas a better place to live, log on to our website, KTNV.COM, and type "Links" in the search box.
