Turn in your unused prescription drugs on Saturday
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- National Prescription Drug Take Back Day gives Las Vegas area-residents a chance to turn in their unused medicine this weekend.
The local event takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop-off locations are:
LVMPD Northwest Area Command – 9850 W Cheyenne Ave.
LVMPD Enterprise Area Command – 6795 W. Windmill Lane
Henderson Police Department – Galleria Mall, 1300 W Sunset Road, #1129
North Las Vegas PD Washburn Station – 3755 W Washburn Road
Nellis AFB BX – 5930 Rickenbacker Rd.
Boulder City - 401 California Ave.
Paiute Tribal Police – 6 Paiute Drive
The medications will be taken with no questions asked. Police say the prescriptions will be disposed of safely.
Authorities hope the event helps reduce the potential of prescription drug abuse and help the environment by preventing improper disposal.
Police also want to remind citizens that prescription drugs can be dropped off anytime Monday-Friday during regular business hours at any area command substation in the labeled boxes.
