Local nonprofits ransacked overnight in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Employees are devastated and police are searching for answers after two nonprofits were ransacked overnight near Jones and Harmon.
The local chapter of the American Heart Association and Olive Crest, which helps foster children, were burglarized and damaged sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Employees came to work shocked to find their offices in shambles, and quickly alerted police.
In both cases, authorities said the thieves came in through side windows. At the American Heart Association, two windows were knocked out and two laptops stolen. At Olive Crest, one window was broken and a computer was taken.
Those nonprofits are now concerned about the confidential information contained on those stolen devices.
The burglary comes at a particularly bad time for the local chapter of the American Heart Association. They are in the midst of planning the American Heart Walk, just two weeks away.
Both nonprofits say their operations will be impacted by the burglary and are looking for help from the community. To learn more about helping the local chapter of the American Heart Association, click here. To learn more about helping Olive Crest, click here.
