Coroner IDs motorcyclist in crash near Lake Mead
BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a 22-year-old man who died after a weekend motorcycle crash near Lake Mead's Callville Bay.
The Clark County coroner's office says Jimmy Daniel Rivera of North Las Vegas was killed in the incident reported a little before 9:30 Sunday morning.
National Park Service officials say they got a call about a downed motorcycle and found Rivera unresponsive about 75 feet off the road and down an embankment.
Rangers say they performed CPR for about 40 minutes before a paramedic pronounced Rivera dead at the scene.
Authorities say speed appears to be a factor in the crash. Rangers and the Nevada Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
