Moped rider killed in crash with box truck
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A moped rider was killed in a crash with a Freightliner box truck on Wednesday morning.
Police say the crash happened on Sahara Avenue near Las Verdes Street at about 10:30 a.m.
Investigators say both vehicles were heading eastbound on Sahara when the moped rider crashed into the back of the Freightliner.
The moped rider, a 26-year-old man from Reno, was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Freightliner box truck, a 25-year-old Las Vegas man, was not injured.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
