Suspect shot, killed by U.S. Marshal in North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A suspect is dead after an officer-involved shooting in the north part of the Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for North Las Vegas Police said officers in a multi-jurisdictional task force were involved in the shooting at about 3 p.m. near West Cheyenne Avenue and North Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The task force was in pursuit of a white car with three people inside. At one point the chase took off on foot and that's when police say the 27-year-old fugitive from Arizona pulled a gun.
Police say a U.S. Marshall fired his weapon, striking the suspect.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and is said to have broken parole on felony charges out of Arizona.
North Las Vegas police are taking the lead on the investigation. They say two women were arrested in connection with the incident.
The area of Martin Luther King and Cheyenne was shut down for several hours as the investigation continued. It is now open to traffic.
Police say the task force involved usually goes after dangerous and violent fugitives.
The U.S. Marshalls are currently investigating this shooting as well.
