Man killed in mobile home fire in east Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A 60-year-old man is dead this morning after a fire at the Desert Inn Mobile Estates near South Nellis Boulevard and East Desert Inn, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Clark County Fire Department responded to the fire at about 7:49 a.m. in the 3400 block of Death Valley Drive. The fire was knocked down in eight minutes.

Neighbors say that they heard an explosion before the fire. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is on the scene since the fire resulted in a death.

The man was apparently the only resident of the home. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
