The Killers to play Vegas on New Year's weekend
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The Cosmopolitan resort on the Las Vegas Strip is kicking off New Year's Eve weekend with hometown rock band The Killers.
Cosmopolitan officials announced Monday the band will perform Dec. 28 and 29, a precursor to the casino's New Year's Eve show with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Killers tickets go on sale Friday and start at $86. The resort's also selling weekend packages, including one offering three nights in a Cosmopolitan suite and tickets to both bands' shows.
Casino officials say it's the first time the band known for hits such as "Mr. Brightside" and "Somebody Told Me" has performed together in Las Vegas in more than three years.
The Killers are scheduled to release an album on Tuesday titled "Battle Born," after the words on Nevada's state flag.
