Las Vegas man charged in toddler's drowning
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man is facing charges in connection with the drowning death of a child earlier this month in Las Vegas.
The incident happened September 5 when police were called to a shopping center parking lot near Spring Mountain and Fort Apache.
Arriving officers found medics trying to revive a drowned toddler. The toddler was taken to Summerlin Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Police say the drowning happened in a backyard swimming pool on Prairie Dove Avenue. When the toddler was found, adults put her in a car to take her to a hospital. On the way, they stopped in the parking lot and called for medics.
31-year-old Lenny Haskins was later arrested in connection with the toddler's death. Haskins reportedly fled the scene at the time of the incident.
Haskins was charged with one count of child neglect with substantial bodily harm.
