Search continues for man missing after Tuesday's storm
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The search continued this morning for the man that went missing on Tuesday during the strong storms that hit the Las Vegas valley.
38-year-old Calletano Lopez was working on a backhoe in a wash near Desert Rose Golf Course when the water began to rush into the wash.
The water level hit 12 feet within a matter of minutes.
The backhoe was barely visible from the air and Lopez was nowhere to be seen when the water receded.
Red Rock Search and Rescue is assisting with the search to find Lopez.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says the search is now a recovery effort and not a rescue.
If anyone wants to help, they are advised to go to the Sunrise Trailhead on Hollywood Avenue, about 4 miles from Sahara.
The Desert Rose Golf Course is located in the eastern part of the valley near South Sloan Lane and East Sahara Avenue.
