Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Several families in the southeast part of the valley were asked to leave their homes last night because yesterday's flood waters may have damaged the electrical systems of their houses.
About 45 homes near Walton Heath Avenue and Moortown Street have been evacuated. Firefighters went door to door last night asking residents to leave.
Officials are concerned about the possibility of electrical fires because there is still so much water in the neighborhood.
Six households are currently seeking help from the American Red Cross.
The local chapter of ARC has set up a disaster operations center to respond to fires and neighborhoods reporting flooding.
