Family reports man missing after heavy rains
LAS VEGAS, NV (KTNV) -- A man who was reportedly doing work in the wash near Sahara and Sloan has been reported missing following Tuesday's heavy rains.
According to his family, 38-year-old Calletano Lopez was operating a backhoe in the wash area when heavy afternoon rains hit and they fear he was washed away in the flood waters.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirm that they received a call from a manager at the Desert Rose Golf course, where the man was doing work, that he had not been seen since the downpour began.
The wife of the man also called police to report that he had not returned home.
