Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One of the victims on that horrible day 11 years ago was from Las Vegas.

Although the high school seniors at Palo Verde High School were only in the first grade on Sept. 11, 2001, the school and community will always remember foreign language teacher Barbara Edwards.

Edwards was on Flight 77 -- the plane that slammed into the Pentagon that day.

Just after the bell rang this morning, students, teachers and staff gathered on the soccer field to pay tribute to the beloved teacher.

In addition to the ceremony at Palo Verde, Clark County will also hosted a tribute at 10 a.m. at the Clark County Government Center amphitheater on Grand Central Parkway.

And other at the Las Vegas Elks Lodge on West Charleston Boulevard, there was a dedication ceremony for an 8-by-12-foot engraved Veterans Memorial boulder.

Information on all of the events can be found here.
