Decatur Boulevard closed after man falls to death
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Decatur Boulevard in the southwest part of the Valley was closed in both directions for several hours Friday morning, while Las Vegas police investigated a death.
According to Trooper Loy Hixson of the Nevada Highway Patrol, a call was received just before 4:30a.m. that a person was walking on the interstate.
When that person was approached by an officer, he ran onto the bridge and then jumped or fell from the Interstate 215 overpass onto Decatur Boulevard.
The man, described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, died from his injuries.
Decatur Boulevard and part of the beltway was closed while the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department conducted an investigation.
