Firefighters respond to blaze on Wyatt Avenue near downtown
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a fire call at about 5 a.m. this morning in the 600 block of Wyatt Ave., near H Street and West Owens Avenue.
Firefighters discovered heavy flames and smoke coming out of a garage window. The garage had been converted into an extra room.
Firefighters entered the home and were able to extinguish the fire in three minutes. The fire was contained to the garage room and did not damage the interior of the home.
A woman and her young daughter were able to escape without injury. No firefighters were injured during the call either.
The woman told the fire investigators that she heard popping noises before she discovered the fire.
Damage is estimated at $20,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
