Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Friends and family of the 17-year-old boy who drowned in the Pittman Wash, had another opportunity to remember him.

A memorial for William Mootz was held Saturday morning at the Plaza Hotel downtown.

The Green Valley High School student died after slipping into the fast-moving floodwaters during last week's torrential rain.

Speakers included William's family, friends, pastor and Boy Scout troop leader.

Attendees were asked to wear blue in honor of William's favorite color.
