Pahrump, NV (KTNV) -- The Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating human remains found in a remote desert area in Pahrump.
The remains were discovered by a man walking his dog Friday evening in the area of Bannavitch Street and Betty Avenue.
Officials said they have tentatively identified the remains as those of 49-year-old David Edward Pucci, a resident of Pahrump, and are awaiting official confirmation through DNA analysis.
The cause of Pucci's death as well as why his body was found several miles from his home are being investigated.
Investigators are withholding further details "pending the ongoing investigation."
