Protesters march to keep D.A.R.E. program
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Protesters gathered Saturday morning, challenging a decision to cut the D.A.R.E. program from Clark County schools.
A march was held in front of Metro Headquarters.
A couple dozen people were out with signs and sporting their D.A.R.E. gear.
Rose Moore, who organized the protest, said without the program aimed at teaching students the dangers of drug use, drug runners and gangs will have easier access to kids.
However, in a video released by Metro, the sheriff said the decision came in order to get D.A.R.E. officers back on the streets.
