A squall that hit the southwest part of the valley late Thursday afternoon, soaked Bonnie Springs and Blue Diamond.

Fortunately, Blue Diamond residents can use a bridge over the wash that carries flood waters south, because Arroyo Street in the back of their community was shut down.

The squall was so strong, and filled the wash so quickly, one resident told Action News she could hear boulders being carried by the storm waters.

Posted signs warn of the flash flood dangers dangers in the area, but motorists still braved the rushing flood waters in the wash, and on Highway 160.

More monsoon activity is expected in the area on Friday.

Keep it tuned to Action News.
