North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- North Las Vegas police took to the streets Thursday to make it clear they aren't playing around with pedestrian safety.

Because of the first week of school, officers are giving extra attention to some of their most dangerous intersections.

Officers started Thursday morning at the intersection of Craig Road and Ferrell Street, then moved around North Las Vegas throughout the day.

Officers said they wrote a few dozen citations after just two hours on the road.
