Police search for southwest-area attempted bank robber
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are searching for a man believed to have attempted to rob two banks in the southwest part of Las Vegas.
Authorities say the man tried to rob a bank near South Durango and Warm Springs the afternoon of August 17.
They say the same man tried to rob a bank the afternoon of August 29 near South Fort Apache and Flamingo.
Both times, the man gave the teller a note demanding money, but fled the scene without any cash.
The attempted robber is described as in his thirties, about 5-feet 5-inches to 5-feet 8-inches and 180-230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white rimmed hat, collared shirt, camouflage shorts and white shoes.
Anyone with information on the attempted robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
