Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Clark County coroner has ruled on the death of 17-year-old William Mootz of Henderson.

Mootz fell into the Pittman Wash near Sam Boyd Stadium last Wednesday during a monsoon storm. His body was recovered Friday morning by friends of the family.

The coroner has ruled that the cause of death was drowning with other conditions being blunt force injury of the head.

The blunt force injury was likely caused by debris in the fast-moving and turbulent water. The coroner also said that Mootz was unconscious at the time of the drowning.

The manner of death was accidental.
