Crews fighting 10-acre wildfire near Washoe Lake
RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Authorities in Reno say firefighting crews are battling a 10-acre wildfire near the north end Washoe Lake.
Fire Chief Charles Moore said in a statement the fire started about 3:45 p.m. Thursday, and that no structures were immediately threatened.
But he says motorists on busy U.S. 395 might want to avoid the area.
Moore says federal Bureau of Land Management, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Nevada Division of Forestry and Carson City firefighters are involved, along with the Washoe County sheriff regional aviation enforcement helicopter.
