911 call released reporting teen's fall into Pittman Wash

 Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Henderson Police Department has released the 911 call reporting a teen who fell into the Pittman Wash on Wednesday.

"I'm at Sunset behind the Target at the wash right there, I see a man in the water, in the wash with his hands signalling for help," the caller says. 

The caller tells 911 dispatch that the victim is heading towards Boulder Highway in the wash.

The caller then gets disconnected, then calls 911 a second time.

"He was going 40 miles an hour in the water," the caller says. 

The 911 dispatcher tells him multiple units have been called to the scene.

Those units began searching the scene, attempting to locate the 17-year-old boy who disappeared.

Authorities say he was with his friends when he fell into the wash and was swept away.

Crews searched for several hours, then resumed their search with the help of volunteers on Thursday morning.

So far there has been no sign of the missing teen. He's been identified as William Mootz, a senior at Green Valley High School.
