North Las Vegas police conduct pedestrian safety event
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department are conducting a pedestrian safety event today.
Officers were out at the intersection of Craig Road and Ferrell Street early this morning.
As the day continues, they will move to other crosswalks around the city that are known to have high pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
School begins for most students next week and the police department is hoping to educate drivers regarding their responsibility to watch for and yield to children in the streets.
The Joining Forces event was made possible by a traffic safety grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety.
