Flash flood warning extended in Southern Nevada
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A flash flood warning remains in effect until 1:45 p.m. as heavy rain pummels Southern Nevada.
Flash flooding impacted washes, low water crossings and on area roadways.
Flooding shut down several roads in Henderson, and made travel difficult through roadways across Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.
Intermittent thunderstorms and lightning also spread through the Valley.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout the evening and into Thursday.
Multiple crashes were reported around the Valley on Wednesday morning. One of those was a semi-truck that overturned on the southbound Interstate 15 exit to southbound U.S. 95.
Officials also reported that motorists were stuck in their vehicles at the intersections of Christy Lane and Longbhow Drive and at Shelbourne Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South.
So far, no serious injuries have been reported.
About 14,000 customers of NV Energy lost power briefly in the area of East Carey Avenue and North Nellis Boulevard. Even after power was restored to that area, NV Energy said that about 3,000 people in different areas of the valley were experiencing brief outages.
