Accomplice arrested in Dairy Queen robbery attempt
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police have arrested a woman they say helped a sword-wielding man attempt to rob a Dairy Queen before being fatally shot over the weekend.
47-year-old Carol Matteo faces charges for robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.
Police say Matteo dropped off the sword-wielding man at a Dairy Queen on Maryland Parkway just after noon on Sunday.
The man entered the business and threatened clerks with a sword in an apparent robbery attempt.
One of the clerks grabbed a gun and shot the man multiple times. He was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital.
The case remains under investigation.
The District Attorney's office will make the decision whether or not to charge the employee who fatally shot the sword-wielding man.
