Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Locals took to the streets to see what homeless living in Las Vegas is like.

"Walk a Mile in My Shoes" was held this weekend.

It's a fundraiser for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, to bring awareness and raise funds for our city's homeless.

Around 200 people participated and walked one-mile during one of the hottest parts of the day; something homeless people go through every day.

Proceeds of the event will go to the Mission's efforts to serve 1,000 meals each day to the homeless, and provide 200 beds each night to men, women and families.
