Family's stolen moving truck found trashed
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Lovelady family is sifting through the little that's left of their stuff. Their trailer was found completely trashed.
"That was my whole life why would someone want that?" Rebecca Lovelady questioned. "None of that stuff has value except to me."
The moving truck the Lovelady's loaded in Oregon was stolen outside their local hotel room just days before moving into their Las Vegas rental house.
"We are feeling hopeless and scared and lost right now," Lovelady said. Priceless photos, bedroom sets, clothes and school supplies for Lovelady's two boys are all gone. "What do you want to say to the person who did this to your family?" Action News asked 7-year old Theirry Lovelady."They are rude and disrespectful," he said. The family spent Sunday salvaging some items, but random holiday decorations and books seem useless. The thieves did leave one special thing behind, a hope chest of one boy's childhood. "It's very special," said Theirry Lovelady through tears. The family said the 26-foot moving truck truck was full from front to back. Now they have nothing to move into their new home. The house sits empty until the family can replace what's stolen. Rebecca Lovelady is starting her masters at UNLV and her boys are starting school. "I have one week to put our lives back together before school starts and I'm going to be swamped," Lovelady said. It's an added stress to make their empty house feel like their home. "We'll figure it out," Lovelady said "We've been knocked down and we're going to pick ourselves back up." If you'd like to help the family, send them an email to beccalovelady@gmail.com.
