CJ the chimp arrives at new home in Oregon
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- CJ the chimpanzee woke up Saturday morning in her home.
After several days in a small cage, traveling a couple hundred miles, she arrived at the place she will call home in Oregon.
CJ escaped from her cage in the Valley twice in the last month.
Friday night, she and her handlers arrived at Chimps Incorporated in central Oregon.
CJ will begin her new life with seven other chimps in an environment specifically designed for their needs. Her handlers said CJ took to her new home almost immediately.
The North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance said CJ is the perfect example of why chimpanzees should not be bred and sold as pets.
