Arrest made after teen hit, killed in marked crosswalk
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A 19-year-old female from Henderson was hit and killed by a car, while trying to cross Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk.
It happened around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, southbound on Boulder near Corn Street.
The driver of the car, 26-year-old Ricky Bonilla, of Las Vegas, was arrested for driving on a revoked license.
Bonilla's license was revoked for a previous driving while intoxicated conviction and he was driving during the revocation period.
Henderson Police said Bonilla hit the teen, who was crossing Boulder in a marked crosswalk. She died at the scene.
The victim's name has not been released.
Bonilla voluntarily submitted to blood testing, but he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Preliminary investigation also indicates speed does not appear to be a factor.
Several lanes of traffic on Boulder were closed for three hours while crews investigated.
So far this year, there have been 10 fatal accidents, resulting in 13 deaths, in Henderson.
