Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- McDonald's presented a check for over $6,600 to the Salvation Army.

Friday, they were also sorting through back to school supplies and filling backpacks that will be handed out to needy children.

The large donation from McDonald's comes from a recent one day event where a quarter from each Big Mac and Quarter Pounder purchases went to the fund.

The money will be used to help buy school supplies for students in need.
