Weekend construction work to close Cheyenne Bridge, portion of U.S. 95
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Cheyenne Bridge and a portion of U.S. 95 will be closed this weekend as part of the U.S. 95 Northwest Widening Project.
The closures will begin at 9 p.m. Aug. 17 and reopen at 11 p.m. Aug. 19. During the closures, motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
The closures are as follows:
- The Cheyenne Bridge across U.S. 95 (east and westbound) will close, beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Aug.17, and is scheduled to reopen at 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
- During this time, a portion of U.S. 95 northbound and southbound will be closed; traffic will be diverted off the freeway, and back on, using the ramps to and from U.S. 95.
- Traffic on Cheyenne Avenue will not be allowed to enter U.S. 95. Detours will be posted at Rainbow Boulevard and Tenaya Way, directing motorists to get onto U.S. 95, and to get from one side of U.S. 95 to the other side.
- Ramp traffic will be allowed to turn right onto eastbound or westbound Cheyenne from the off-ramps. Ramps will be set up to handle two lanes of traffic during this closure.
