Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It was 35 years ago today that Elvis Presley died of a heart attack at the age of 42 and the "King of Rock 'n' Roll" is still being remembered here in Las Vegas and around the world.

Approximately 75,000 people were expected to show up at Graceland for Elvis Week -- the annual celebration of Presley's life and career. Elvis week started last Thursday and concludes this Saturday.

His ex-wife Priscilla and daughter Lisa Marie reportedly met with some of the crowds who were lined up for hours outside the star's Memphis home. It was the first time that they had appeared together at the annual event.

Many of his fans say that they are just as big fans of his music now as they were when he was still alive.

Elvis performed many times here in Las Vegas at what is now known as the Las Vegas Hotel. Last night, fans held a vigil for the King at the hotel. They left candles, leis and flowers at the statue of Elvis at the hotel.

Today, Madame Tussauds at The Venetian hotel-casino in Las Vegas will offer free admission to anyone who dresses up as The King.
