STAGECOACH, Nev. (AP) -- Four people have been killed in a fiery crash involving a trailer hauling livestock in northern Nevada on U.S. Highway 50 east of Dayton.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen says the multiple-vehicle crash and explosion happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday near Stagecoach about 10 miles east of Dayton.
The highway is expected to remain closed in both directions most of the day in the area about 25 miles east of Carson City.
Allen told The Associated Press that Lyon County authorities have confirmed four human fatalities. He says he doesn't know if any cattle were killed.
KRNV-TV reports three vehicles were involved in the crash and three people were injured in addition to the four deaths.
