Driver, passenger flown to Las Vegas after Utah crash
APPLE VALLEY, Utah (AP) -- Authorities say a 23-year-old driver and a 13-year-old passenger were badly hurty in an SUV crash off a southern Utah highway.
The Utah Highway Patrol tells the Deseret News that driver Tara Wendling was flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas and passenger Leo Lomahquahu was taken by ambulance to St. George before he was also flown to UMC in critical condition.
They were in an Isuzu Trooper that rolled over during an apparent attempt to pass several vehicles Sunday on Highway 59 in Apple Valley.
Troopers say a 16-year-old passenger and a 7-month-old baby in a car seat were taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, where the baby was reported to be OK. The teen has a broken leg.
