Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- People across the Las Vegas Valley were stunned to learn that CJ the chimp was able to escape for the second time this summer, but perhaps no one more than Tony Paolone.

Paolone watched the chimp wander down his street, before climbing into his truck and eventually walking right into his house.

Paolone said CJ was being followed closely by her handler as they waited for a tranquilizer to arrive.

Paolone says that Las Vegas police and animal control were observing things from across the street while his girlfriend was still inside the home.  That's when CJ grabbed a hold of the doorknob and let herself in.

The handler quickly intervened, but Paolone was shocked that the animal was able to get out once again,

“I thought the problem was resolved and that there was no way the monkey would be able to escape a second time,” Paolone said.

A short time later, the chimp was tranquilized and fell asleep.

Things ended a bit more peaceful this time. The last time CJ got out, her chimp companion Buddy was shot and killed after displaying signs of aggression.
