Elderly man hit by unlicensed driver while watering his lawn

North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An elderly man was taken to the hospital after being hit by an unlicensed driver while watering his lawn.

It happened Sunday afternoon at a home near Camino Eldorado and Centennial Parkway.

An officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department told Action News a teenager was trying to make a turn, lost control of his vehicle and went up into the victim's lawn.

The 65-year-old victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, stopped after hitting the man.

Several roads around the crash scene were closed while crews investigated what happened.

Police told Action News that the unlicensed 17-year-old faces several charges including driving without a license.
