Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police are searching for a gunman after a fatal shooting at a convenience store in Las Vegas on Thursday morning.

Two men were reportedly fighting just outside of a strip mall near Nellis and Sahara when things turned deadly.

The victim was found lying in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Police launched an investigation into who was responsible.

"At this point it does not appear that robbery was a motive," a spokesman with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. "It appears that there was some sort of altercation. What that altercation was about, that's currently under investigation."

The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Chadrick Wilson of Las Vegas. Police say he was shot multiple times outside that mini mart before the suspect fled on foot.

The gunman is described as a black man in his early 20s. Police hope surveillance images help lead to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
