Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- With the excessive heat warning this week, not everyone is dreading the heat wave. Some businesses actually thrive in triple digit weather.

"Although we're busiest during our hockey season, our numbers are going up [compared to in] the years past, so I think that people are using this as an option," says Bob Della Rocca, General Manager of the Las Vegas Skate Center.

Della Rocca says they've recently extended their public skate hours.

Ice cream, frozen yogurt, and frozen custard places are thriving on days like these.

"This is the best!" comments frozen custard aficionado, Carol Ashworth, who says buying a cool treat is the best way to beat the heat.

Ashworth has been visiting Luv It Frozen Custard since she was 17 years old.

Air conditioning repair shops are also doing well during the heat wave.

We have technicians on call 24/7," says Jeremy Anderson with Aire Serv Heating and Air Conditioning. "If someone's air conditioning breaks down at midnight, [our technicians] go out there and take care of them."

Anderson says they expect an influx of calls starting this evening.
