Utah man dies from injuries following crash on I-15
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A man from Utah has died following a crash last weekend.
It happened on Saturday, August 4, just before 8:30 a.m. on northbound I-15.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said a 2005 Kia Optima was traveling northbound. An unknown second vehicle was northbound in another lane.
As the unknown vehicle passed the Kia, it drifted into the Kia's lane.
The driver of the Kia turned right to avoid a collision. The Kia then entered the east desert area, crashed and overturned.
The unknown second vehicle fled the scene.
The passenger of the Kia, 68-year-old John Rygh of Hayden, Utah, was taken to UMC Trauma where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead three days later on August 7 around 7 p.m.
