New LGBT community center breaks ground on Maryland Parkway
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The gay and lesbian community in Southern Nevada is getting a brand new community center.
Tuesday was the groundbreaking ceremony for the Robert L. Forbuss building on Maryland Parkway near Charleston. The state-of-the-art facility simply called The Center will provide the gay and lesbian community with the ability to expand their programs and services.
Currently, the center provides services to 30,000 people every year. The community center's $4 million price tag won't be going to waste. The money is creating a 16,000-square-foot space complete with a health and wellness center.
