Ex-casino worker gets prison in player points scam
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A former southern Nevada casino database manager accused of stealing players' club points from customers has been ordered to nearly five years in prison.
A federal judge sentenced 29-year-old Henderson resident Tony Ahn this week to 57 months in prison. He'll also have to pay nearly $900,000 in restitution.
Prosecutors say Ahn worked in a Las Vegas-area casino and stole gambling account information from customers. They say he used their free play points to win money.
Four other co-defendants are accused in the conspiracy, which authorities say continued even after Ahn stopped working at the casino in November 2009.
Ahn pleaded guilty in May to conspiracy to commit access device fraud, making fraudulent transactions, and trafficking, production, and use of counterfeit access devices.
He must report to prison Nov. 5.
